Mimbles is a real computer geek. He rarely goes out into the real worlds unless he has to. He felt after seeing Emerald, he had to do some research.
There has to be away to possess this lovely creature in his world, the world of fantasy where all things are possible. There are only the limits of your imagination to hold you back. You can be king of your own world if you choose.
Mimbles, real names are Matthew Richenbachen. He is 26 years old and lives at home with his windowed mother. He spends his life in the university computer center or making a living on the net doing WebPages.
Matthew sits in his room surrounds by stacks of computer books and software boxes. His room is cluttered with computer software and hardware manuals. There is a wall of shelves with various pieces of hardware on it, next to the door. His bed is opposite the door sort of tucked between filing cabinets. The room looks more like a computer store than a bedroom. The only wall without shelves or filing cabinets is the wall with the door, because it has a closet with its folding doors, which takes up most the wall.
Matthew makes a mental note to thank Aerik for introducing him to the lovely Emerald.
Rummaging through a couple of over flowing draws he comes up with what he was searching for. A security ID card, that will help him get into the experimental hospital where he is sure he will find the lovely creature’s player.
If what Aerik says is true, then he must separate the real Emerald form the cyber one. What he has said it shouldn’t take much to eliminate the living creature, leaving the cyber one venerable.
Matthew hears his mother yelling up the stairs, “Matthew!”
“What mother,” Matthew shouts back irritably, as he walks to the stairway. Taking a glance around making note of anything else he needs to take with him on this mission.
“If you go out bring back some muffins and milk,” His mother says as he walks into the kitchen.
“Yeah, yeah,” Matthew response, taking some money from his mother's purse that is setting on the table. Then heads for the back door, to his car.
Soon he is on the road towards the university, formulating plans on how to eliminating the real Emerald. His only hope, in his mind, to be able to control the Creature in his world it's to be able to control her world, and that he has mastered. He knows every code in that program that makes the program runs he could keep Tholin and his friend out of the game. First he needs those two. They will be a useful distraction for the moment.
Pulling into the drive to the Experimental section of the University, there is all sorts of security, he must pass through the gate to the parking structure. There is a gate guard their, he hopes his ID card will get him through it. The ID is an old one from when he was working on the computer system in the building back when it was first installed.
The guard stops his car and walks to the window, “ can I see your clearance, sir,” the guard asks politely.
Slipping the ID out of his pocket he hands it to the guard. Examining it he hands it back to Matthew. "Sorry, sir, I can’t let you pass this ID has expired.”
“Expired,” Matthew says questioning, “but I don’t understand it was fine the last I used it.”
The guard shrugs, “sorry sir, but you will have to go to the main building and have it renewed.”
Matthew grumbles and backs up and turns the car around, trying to think that there must be a way to get his ID renewed or find another way into that facility.
Parking the car he waddles into the Main building of the University, finding the administration offices he walks up to the secretary’s desk. There an average looking middle aged woman sits. She is either pretty or homely just average. She has her hair up in a tight bun on top of her head. Rather thin she bares a resemblance to Olive Oil from the Popeye comics. The woman looks up from her computer terminal and smiles at Matthew.
Matthew smiles friendly, back and hands the woman his ID, “ the guard at the gate said this had expired, can you get me a new one, please?”
The secretary looks at the ID then type some things into the computer. He can see on her face that she can’t find what she is looking for. Looking up at Mimbles she smiles sadly, “ Sorry, I can’t you have to get Dr. Morose to give you clearance.”
Taking the ID back he smiles reassuringly, “ no problem, I will just do that.” Turning and walking out the door. Hating to have to hack into the schools computer, he knows that the odds of getting Dr. Morose to authorize his pass are slim to none.
Stepping back out into the warm spring air Mimbles thinks to he is he can’t get in from the outside then he will from the inside.
